The project is an investigation into the public space: conceived both as monumental forms as well as a sequence of experiences. The chaotic street structure amplifies the connections between the users and infrastructures, creating a dynamic and visually dramatic spatial literacy within the public realm. The “archipelago” claims a non-antagonistic common driven by the very citizens and neighbors of the city, and the act of “chaotic using” as an approach to the reclamation of disfigured urban space. Instead of discrete intervention, could the process of urban occupying generate a fluid type of monumentality, with the participation of users and visitors?
